Harvey, and Ralph Dunn was screened in the Hall in the Hall (source: Hall Journal, see also Connacht Tribune 14th February 1959, page 13). 7th March 1959 – Athenry Players performed The Playboy of the Western World in the Hall, a 1907 comedy play in Three Acts by JM Synge (source: Hall Journal, see also Connacht Tribune 7th March 1959, page 15). 7th April 1959 – Tall in the Saddle, a 1944 Western starring John Wayne and Ella Raines was screened in the Hall (source: Hall Journal, see also Connacht Tribune 4th April 1959, page 15). 14th April 1959 – Picnic, a 1955 romantic comedy starring William Holden and Kim Novak, was screened in the Hall (source: Hall Journal, see also Connacht Tribune 11th April 1959, page 13). 12th & 13th May 1959 – Rooney, a 1958 comedy starring John Gregson, Barry Fitzgerald and Noel Purcell, was screened in the Hall (source: Hall Journal, see also Connacht Tribune 9th May 1959, page 15). 23rd & 24th June 1959 – The Rising of the Moon, a 1957 film directed by John Ford starring Cyril Cusack, Noel Purcell, Maureen Potter et al, with narration by Tyrone Power (source: Hall Journal, see also Connacht Tribune 20th June 1959, page 15). The film consists of three episodes all set in Ireland:  The Majesty of the Law, based on a short story by Frank O'Connor  A Minute's Wait, based on a 1914 One Act comedy by Martin J.
